After 30 hours in transit involving three planes, a train, and two metro changes and a ten minute walk, I stepped into my hotel in Brussels, the Hotel Bristol Stephanie on Avenue Louise. My sweaty, bedraggled appearance at the reception of this fine establishment received a quiet raised eyebrow from the impeccably presented consierge...
Although long, the trip from home to hotel was remarkably smooth and hassle-free, and the travel-gods must have been smiling on me as there was not one flight delay!
A highlight was definitely Terminal 4 of Madrid-Barajas airport...the architecture is fun, interesting and artistic.
