Friday 20th - Rory's blog
Greeting from high up in the Rif mountains in Morocco, in a place called Chefchaouen. Really great out here, primitive and very cultural with a mix of Arabic Muslims and local Berbers from up in the mountains. The town is one huge flea market with people selling just about everything from colourful Moroccan carpets, tagines and other specialities to “colgate” toothpaste and chewing gum. We get offered “kif” on every street corner, they apparently have huge hash crops growing in the mountains – so there are plenty of happy people wandering around. Hence the slogan “it’s kif in the Rif”. People are lank friendly and don’t bug you constantly like in Egypt and other North African countries.
